Several components of the Cisco Unified Communications architecture are employed when enabling a Cisco Unified Communications Manager cluster for on-net calls. The process involves providing the IP network infrastructure, selecting endpoints such as Cisco IP phones, and integrating them into the network. This course describes the endpoints that are supported by Cisco Unified Communications Manager, including their characteristics, protocol, and feature support. The course also reviews the unique features of Cisco IP phones, and how Cisco Catalyst switches provide power to endpoints and support VLAN separation for voice and data traffic. This course is one of a series from two SkillSoft learning paths, which cover the objectives for Cisco exam 642-446 CIPT. This exam is one of five required qualifying exams for the CCVP (Cisco Certified Voice Professional) certification.
