Overview

Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) multisite deployments can use various connection options between sites. Multisite dial plans have to address special issues, such as overlapping and nonconsecutive directory numbers, public switched telephone network (PSTN) access, PSTN backup, and tail- end hop-off (TEHO). This course describes multisite deployment connection options and explains how to configure them.
Also covered in this course is how to build multisite dial plans using CUCM and Cisco IOS gateway configuration. The concept of globalized call routing – a new way of building dial plans in international multisite deployments is also discussed.

Target Audience

Anyone wishing to obtain the Cisco Certified Network Professional CCNP Voice designation that validates the skills and knowledge required in order to create a voice solution that is transparent, scalable, and manageable. Established IT professionals with a good understanding of networking and Cisco technology, the basics of digital interfaces, PSTN, and VoIP, fundamental knowledge of converged voice and data networks, and the ability to configure Cisco IOS gateways with traditional and VoIP call legs. Candidates who have completed the Cisco Certified Network Associate Voice (CCNA Voice) Certification which is obtained by completing the Introducing Cisco Voice and Unified Communications Administration 640-461 (ICOMM) v8.0 exam. Candidates who have completed the Implementing Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Part 1 (CIPT1) v8.0 (642-447) exam.
